PortalPro Building – FAQs
1. What is the PortalPro building?
PortalPro is a steel portal frame building designed for both permanent and semi-permanent use. It’s engineered for strength, durability, and flexibility, making it ideal for agricultural, commercial, and industrial applications.
2. Do I need planning permission for a PortalPro building?
In many cases, semi-permanent PortalPro buildings may not require full planning permission, especially for temporary use or agricultural applications. However, planning requirements can vary by location, so we recommend checking with your local planning authority or letting us assist you in assessing your situation.
3. What’s the difference between permanent and semi-permanent installations?
Permanent: Installed on a full foundation with long-term use in mind.
Semi-Permanent: Installed using alternative anchoring methods that allow the building to be relocated in the future — ideal for temporary or transitional use, and may qualify for reduced planning requirements.
Semi-Permanent: Installed using alternative anchoring methods that allow the building to be relocated in the future — ideal for temporary or transitional use, and may qualify for reduced planning requirements.
5. Can I customise the building?
Yes. You can customise the size, cladding type (e.g. steel sheeting, insulated panels), door and window locations, colors, and more. We’ll work with you to create a design that fits your use case and budget.
6. How long does it take to manufacture and deliver?
Typical lead times range from 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the size and level of customisation. We’ll provide an estimated timeline when you place your order.
7. Is installation included?
We offer two options:
Supply Only – Delivered as a prefabricated kit with full instructions.
Supply & Install – Our professional team can handle on-site assembly. Let us know your preference at the time of ordering.
8. What type of foundation is required?
For permanent installations, we recommend a concrete slab or pad foundation. For semi-permanent use, we offer alternative anchoring options suitable for temporary placement without full groundwork.
9. Is the structure weatherproof?
Yes. PortalPro is engineered to withstand UK wind, snow, and rain loads. We use high-quality, coated steel materials that provide long-term corrosion resistance.
10. What warranty do you offer?
We offer a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects. Extended warranties and maintenance plans are also available — ask us for details.
